Christmas Cards 2025

It's a little later than usual, but I finally got to my craft table to make some Christmas cards for this year.

Thanks to my lovely sisters, I received some new supplies for my birthday last month and put them to use!

The Christmas Greetings Mix & Match Specialty Cards & Envelopes are a great base to for some quick and easy cards, as well as some "stepped up" cards for avid crafters. They are currently on the "Last Chance" list at a discounted price, so grab some while you can!!

These two cards came together as the tree I cut from one card base, I used on the other card.

For both cards I have also used the Everyday Arches dies and Pine Tree Trimmings dies. 

The Sentiments are from the Pine Tree Trimmings Stamp Set.

The second card is a Fun Fold created by folding the card so that the plaid pattern is on the INSIDE of the card, and then folding the front back onto itself.

Using an arch die one size bigger than the gold foil arch for the white insert, also creates a boarder when the card is closed.

Craft for a Cause

Last post, I mentioned that the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) was the Product Giveback for Stampin' Up! this year.

I have loved using this paper, and have held a Card Buffet which featured use of this paper heavily in the cards that could be made.

Below is a very small selection of what was on offer in my Card Buffet class.

This very simple card uses an image from the DSP, cut out with a tag die from the Greetings of the Season dies. With the addition of a dry embossed background and a heat embossed sentiment on another piece of the DSP, a little ribbon and layer of coordinating cardstock and the card is done!

The next card is a very similar in design, this time die cutting an image directly from the DSP (with the coordinating Sentimental Wishes dies) and adding a couple of die cut little branches. It once again has a sentiment that is heat embossed and this time a larger piece of DSP as the background layer.

Quick Christmas Cards

Did you know that each year, Stampin' Up! donates a portion of sales from a specific product to global cause? This is called the Product Give Back. You can "Craft for a Cause" and know that you are helping towards this cause.

This year, the Product is Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP).

It's easy to make a stack of quick Christmas cards with the designs of this paper.

Here is just one example.

The Reindeer image is simply fussy cut straight from a page of the paper.

Add some ribbon, bling, a sentiment, and one of the other designed in the paper pack, and you have this card! I have put this on a card base of Pretty Peacock, as I think it sets it all off in the best way.

A Walk in the Forest - Crafting for a Cause

Not that I need another excuse/reason to purchase craft supplies, or make cards, but it's an added bonus when there is something extra behind it.

Texture Chic is Spruced Up!

My Card Kits to Go this month featured the Spruced Up Bundle. 

This bundle includes the Spruced Up Stamp Set and the Spruced Up Outlines Dies. 

The kit had supplies (all precut ready to assemble) to make four cards and included envelopes.

Non Traditional Christmas Tidings

Over World Cardmaking Day/weekend, we started making our Christmas Cards.

I've also been making Christmas cards to go in my monthly "Card Kits to Go" (see my "Events & Classes" tab if you're interested). 

Last month I tried to do a few that were using less traditional colours.

Here is one that I quite liked the end result - I played around with it for a while before the final result...

I CASEd the idea from a Stampin' Up! project I had seen for a tag/gift box using a different stamp set.

The main colours are Rich Razzleberry, Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray along with Whisper White and a hint of Pool Party in the Old Olive leaves on the tree (hard to see in the photo) and of course the Plaid Tidings DSP which is currently 15% off.

I have also used the twine that is included in the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo pack which I have "frayed' at the ends.

World Cardmaking Day 2020 - weekend!

 We had a great day yesterday October 3rd, for 2020's World Cardmaking Day.

Although, it actually started on Friday when I was setting up for the event, my kids couldn't wait to get creating and started making some cards as soon I there was supplies on the table!

They sat creating with me through 2 virtual events on Saturday (yesterday) and have continued creating today!

I LOVE that they love stamping and creating as much as I do.

Here is the table during yesterdays sessions

They were making everything from Christmas cards, to Halloween cards, to just because/friends cards.

We had a lovely time....and still are 😉

Join me for World Cardmaking Day

 Join me in person or virtually on World Cardmaking Day to make some Christmas cards, tags or both!

We will be using the Tag Buffet Project kit to create both tags and cards. Here is a sample of what you could make.

Or you can purchase the kit yourself and make 30 tags, or a combination of tags and cards, or all cards! This is an amazing kit and so easy to put together - you just need some dimensionals (and maybe some stamps and ink...), but that's about it!

A Stack of Christmas Joy

 Yesterday I held my first in-person stamping event since March. It was so nice to sit and chat in person whilst creating a stack of Christmas cards.

What made it even more special was that it was with some ladies that have been customers since the first year I joined SU back in 2006. I hadn't actually met in person with these particular ladies since last year! So we had a bit of catching up to do.

Since it's been so long, we did a catalogue walk-through as they had coffee/tea, before we got down to stamping and creating.

They got to make 10 cards each (2 designs) and used a bunch of new products.

Here is the first card, which had a slight variation to one for a bit of fun.

Supplies used were (Click on the above images to shop these supplies):

• Joyful Holly Stamp Set
• Real Red, Pretty Peacock, Pool Party & Old Olive inks
• Real Red, Pool Party, Pretty Peacock & Whisper White card-stock
• Label Me Fancy, Label Me Lovely & Everyday Label Punches
• Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon &  Real Red Double Stitched Satin Ribbon (I actually used a Retired ribbon as I had run out of the other!)
• Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Woven Threads Sequin Assortment
  

We used the Stamparatus to get these done. The leaf outline is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and the inside of the leaf is Pool Party on one & Old Olive on the other.

This fun fold card uses and A4 piece of card-stock cut on the diagonal (left top corner to right bottom corner) and them scored at the halfway point to the center. I found it easiest to score the sheet of A4 first before cutting. They made just one each of the fun fold & then 4 of the other.

The next card was another fun fold and used a mix of stamp sets and dies....

I just love the cute little gnomes in the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set.

Here is the inside which has 2 "flaps" to open...

Supplies used in this card are:

• Gnome for the Holidays and Coming Home stamp sets
• Smoky Slate and Whisper White Card-stock
• Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper
  
• Smoky Slate ink and Jet Black StazOn Pad
  
• Stitched Nested Labels and Stitched Shapes dies
• Stampin' Blends
  

It was fun to mix these 2 sets together. The image can be coloured with your preferred choice/method of colouring.

I had to leave (to pick my girls up from school) while they were still making these cards, so didn't get to see how they all turned out. But they have promised to send me some photos.... I always love seeing the variations as each person adds their own touch to each.

With these cards, they have made a good start to their Christmas cards and this will hopefully inspire them to continue to make some more.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

It's been a busy few weeks with the end of school, last minute Christmas shopping, gift wrapping and of course card making.

Both of my daughters handmade ALL of their own Christmas cards this year (their list seemed to keep growing!).
We had moved our outdoor table inside on the first day we had a "Catastrophic Fire Danger" warning which then became their workspace over the next few weeks.

We had our Elf on the Shelf "Bob" visit us and cause the usual mischief.

This is when we caught him eating the gingerbread train that my girls had made....

And of course there were a few more Christmas cards from me.

So from my home to yours, I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Years celebration, however you choose to celebrate!

A Perfectly Plaid Christmas Card (or 2..or more)

One of my favourite Suits from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue has definitely been the Wrapped In Plaid Suite.

 
The lovely Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) is 6" x 6" and has a wonderful selection of plaids on one side while on the other there is a lovely variety of other Christmas themed images and patterns.
The Pine Tree Punch can be used on it's own but of course is a great addition with the Perfectly Plaid stamp set (which you can bundle and get 10%off)
There are also cute little Jingle Bells, some pretty Shaded Spruce/Gold Striped Ribbon and the shiny Gold Mini Pizza Boxes.

Here are a few cards I have made so far with the products in this Suite.

This is a Gold Foil-Edged Card (Envelope not shown) with stamps from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set, the Wrapped in Plaid DSP and Pine Tree Punch used. The tree is stamped using in Shaded Spruce and the works in Cherry Cobbler. I've also added some of our Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels as little ornaments.

The above cards were made at a recent Card and Cuppa I held at a local cafe.
The top card is stamped straight onto a Very Vanilla Note Card & Envelope set in Shaded Spruce, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler Inks.
The Bottom Card uses Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White Card Stock with the same inks as above and the addition if some DSP. Both have the background trees being "stamped off" to achieve the fade out look and have one tree punched out of separate cardstock and held in place with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card was made to add to a mixed stack of 10 cards that my neighbour purchased from me.
It is a very simple Whisper White card with a piece if plaid DSP and some of the beautiful Shaded Spruce/Gold Striped Ribbon. I have stamped the tree in Shaded Spruce ink and punched it out with the Pine Tree punch. The oval is Whisper White and is a die cut from the Stitched Shapes Dies with the Merry Christmas stampined in Cherry Cobbler ink.
