Mystery Card Fun

Last month I participated in a wonderfully fun and inspiring Demonstrator only event, held by fellow demonstrators here in Australia.

As part of our opening night festivities, we created a "Mystery Card".

If you have never participated in a Mystery Card type challenge, there are a few ways it can be done.

For us, we were giving the first "clue" (set of instructions) which basically gave us cutting measurements for various pieces of card stock and patterned paper, as well as other supplies we would need.

We were then given a series of other "clues" to held us complete the card.

The mystery is, that each participant chooses different paper, ard, stamps and supplies, so everyone's card will look different, even though it is the same "design".

Here is my finished card using products from the Bee Mine Suite Collection.

The cute little bee is fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper.

What's your favourite kind of card making challenge?

WCMD 2021 and Mystery Card Making

This month started with a weekend of virtual craft-togethers for World Card Making Day 2021 #WCMD2021.

My fellow demonstrator Pauline Bennetts and I held a craft and chat on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The Sunday activity was centered around the Christmas Whimsy Kit, where we made the card in the kit together, then also went through some alternative ways to make the cards (changing things up a bit) as well as cards to make afterwards using some Notecards & Envelopes with the stamp set & left over pieces from the kit.

The following weekend I attended a Demonstrator Only virtual event which we had fun making a Mystery Card. Have you ever tried a Mystery card challenge? You choose your own paper and card stock beforehand and then were given basic instructions on pieces to cut etc. You then assemble the pieces to your own taste & design. This means everyone's card ends up totally different!

This is how my Mystery card turned out

This card uses the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP and the sentiment is from the Christmas Whimsy kit stamp set.

What's on your craft table this month?
