Magical Unicorn Birthday

 Over this past week I haven't been stamping or crafting at all due to illness (negative for COVID!) *sign* cough sneeze etc...

However, my youngest (9) had a sleepover birthday party that is actually going ahead, so she happily made a card for the birthday girl.

She had told me that she wanted to stamp either a unicorn or mermaid, and that the card base needed to be pale pink.

So, I dug out 3 retired stamp sets that suited her requirements (Magical Mermaid, Leave a Little Sparkle & Magical Day) and cut her some Pink Pirouette cardstock.

She came up with this all on her own....

 

I also introduced her to Wink of Stella to add some sparkle. She LOVED it.

I love the fact that she used the Seaweed from Magical Mermaid set upside down to create "vines" for the unicorn (from the Leave a Little Sparkle set) to be peeking through.

In the end, she used stamps out of all three of the sets I got out for her (the sentiment is also from Magical Mermaid, while the little yellow stars are from Magical Day).

Her creativity really shines - she even wrote "Handmade by Abigail" on the back of the card 😍

Hopefully, I will get back to the craft desk this week.

Birthday Cards Galore!

It's been another busy week with "school at home" as well as other household "chores" and activities.
Today however, I let the girls finish school early and sat at my craft desk to make a few cards.
May is a big month for friends of ours. My friend had her 50th at the beginning of the month. Originally she and her family were going to go on a 10 day cruise during April as a celebration.
That, of course, did not happen.
Both of her daughters (who are the same ages as my girls) have their birthday this month too. The eldest was today & the other will be on Sunday.
I sat today & made all three of them a card, each especially with them in mind.

Here is the first for the birthday girl today (we had hoped to drive over & put cards in the mailbox, but that didn't happen)....

This card uses the "Leave a Little Sparkle" stamp set which is Retiring (and already sold out in Australia).

Next was the upcoming Sunday birthday which uses the already retired Magical Day Bundle (still a favourite for me).

And last, but certainly not least, my friend and her 50th card - we share a love of phalaenopsis orchids, so the retired Climbing Orchid Bundle was perfect.

And now time to relax....
