More Kintsugi and a ribbon rosette

Having another play with the Inspiring Imperfections dies (part of the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite Collection) I slightly altered the Vase die image by cutting the top portion off - with the bottom of the same die!

After cutting the case out normally I then placed the base of the die at the top of the vase, laying over to cut the top portion off and ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine again. 

The ribbon rosette has been created by cutting a section of the Gold Striped 3/8" (1 cm) Mesh Ribbon and pulling on gold tread that runs through the middle of the ribbon. I did this from both ends (so that I didn't just pull the tread out) and pushed it together to gather. I tied the gold thread together and fixed it in place on the card with Tear & Tape.

For the inside of the card, I used the "cracked" stamps in one corner, from the Inspiring Imperfections Stamp Set. As they are photopolymer stamps, they can be manipulated (bent) to change the shape to fit the area.

Creating Rainbows with Boho Vibes

 Last month, in my Card Kits to Go there were a couple of cards which featured products from the Boho Vibes Suite Collection.

This card features the Designer Series Paper and the Dies. I've also added the arch using the Everyday Arches dies and the stamped Thank You is from the With You In Mind stamp set.

This next card is Cased from the catalogue, with the added use of the Glass & Gardens Embossing Folders. The flap of the envelope has also been embossed to match!

The stamp is from the Simply Said Mix & Match Stamp Set.

Kintsugi Inspirations

 "Kintsugi : the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum."

 "It's a practice that embraces the imperfections of an object, transforming breaks and repairs into beautiful, unique features. This technique is not just a method of restoration, but also a philosophy that celebrates the beauty of imperfection and resilience."

I love so many things about Japan and its culture. Kintsugi is a fine example of of this very fact.

To repair a broken object, showing the break, the "imperfections",and making it beautiful!

So, when Stampin' Up! brought out the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite Collection, there was no question of "if" I would get it.

In my last Cards to Go kit, I used much of the different elements of the Suite to create these two cards.

For this card, the card base (of Midnight Muse) has been Embossed with the Joined Together 3D Embossing Folder. The vases and flower and cut, using the Kintsugi Imperfections dies, straight from the Kintsugi Inspirations Specialty Designer Series Paper. Add a sentiment and it's good to go!

With this card, I have die cut a vase from Basic White cardstock, then run it through with the Embossing Folder so that the vase has the embossed blossoms. I've then rubbed an ink pad directly onto the embossed vase image, and used a blending brush to add some colour to the edges of the vase.

I've used the die cut "cracks" for branches, and added the diecut blossoms.

Finished with gold embossing the sentiment and the "Flower Accents" embellishments.

Florals in Bloom - get a Suite deal!

The ideas for these cards came straight out of the 2025-2026 Annual Catalogue. I love using the catalogue for inspiration, and sometimes just love replicating the cards straight out of the catalogue!

This next one, I took inspiration from one of the cards on Page 40 and changed things around a bit.

I have loved playing with all the different products in this suite which has two stamp & die bundles, Designer Series Paper and embellishments.

2024-2026 In Colours Card

This month, my Cards to Go kit featured a few of the new Designer Series Papers.

One card in particular was a "Sampler" card with strips of the new 2024-2026 In Color papers.

It also showcases the new Basic Beige colour addition.

Wanted to Say and Masterfully Made!

My Cards to Go kits went out today, and the focus this month was on the Wanted to Say dies.

I have also added a touch more Fresh Freesia with some additional die cut elements.

This is topped off with a few Brushed Brass Butterflies.

CASEing the New Catalogue!

 My latest Cards on the Go kits have gone out, and I CASEd the new catalogue.

I had heaps of fun making this one!

It uses a stencil easily made with the Brilliant Wings dies and our blending brushes to create a background for the butterflies. Click on the image above for a list of items I used on this project.

CASEing the Catalogues for Cards to GO!

Each month, I make Card Kits which can be purchased (Cards to GO) and made at your convenience. You receive an email with complete instructions on how to assemble the cards including a photo of the finished card.

Quite often, I an stuck for ideas, and one of the first places I go to for ideas and inspiration, is the SU Catalogues! They used to be called "Idea Book & Catalogue" for this very reason - as they are filled with ideas!

So, with school holidays and other things taking my attention, my cards for this months kit were mostly CASEd, either from the catalogue, or from online searches.

Here are the cards from this month's kit:

 

Three of the 5 cards use retiring DSP. The last card is taken from the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue, so shows ALL NEW products including the 2021-2023 In Colours. The "bird" card also comes from the new catalogue with one slight variation.... see if you can spot it.

Fine Art for cards.... and some snail mail

It's been a rainy day here in the Blue Mountains NSW, but thankfully, we are safe from the flooding that is happening in other areas nearby! So, while my girls enjoyed some screen time (gaming and such) I was left to do whatever I chose.

My 'Cards to Go Kit' for this month featured 4 cards (including envelopes) and featured products from the current JJ Mini Catalogue (JJ = Jan-Jun).

I will show 2 today & 2 next week. Click on the image to Shop the items used.

This card features the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper, overlaid with the Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate. I've then topped that with a die & sentiment from the Tasteful Touches Bundle (which includes the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set and the Tasteful Labels Dies) and added a little Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim. This is on a Terracotta Tile card base - one of the 2019-2021 In Colours which will be retiring soon! So if you like it, stock up now.

 

 

This card was taken or CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from page 54 of the 2021 JJ Mini Catalogue and has NO STAMPING at all. It uses strips of the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper, along with strips of Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight cardstock. The card base is Pool Party and the white layer is scored at 1cm intervals to create some texture. The snail and "hello" have been die cut from the DSP.

Cards to Go kit with a masucline theme

 My Cards to Go kits started up again last month, and I had been asked if I could include some masculine cards this time - not my strong suit I must say.

So after have a good Google & Pinterest search, here is what the kits made.

These cards all involve little to no stamping and lots of DSP and die cut pieces.

The are also quite simple to copy and repeat!
