Coming up - WCMD2021

This Saturday October 2 is World Card Making Day #WCMD2021.

I will be popping on my Facebook Page throughout the day, making cards and showing some kits that we have on offer.

Then on Sunday October 3, I will be co-hosting a Virtual card making session with my fellow demonstrator Pauline Bennetts.

We will be focusing on the new Christmas Whimsy card kit, and showing some ideas of what you can do with the leftover bits of the kit and to continue using the stamp set.

If you're not interested in that particular kit, you can choose any of the other kits available (just search "kits", or look under the "Kits Collection"), or simply make your own creations.

Birthday's in Lockdown

We are well into week 13 of Lockdown here in the "Greater Sydney" area. It's now school holidays again. Luckily, restrictions are easing a little, and we were able to have an outdoor picnic with some of my family. This was especially nice for my Mum, who is on her own and has really been missing seeing us all in person.

Today is my eldest daughter's 13th birthday. Knowing that we were going to be in lockdown for her birthday, we have organised a "virtual" party on zoom, with games and fun.

I made a card for her using items from the Blackberry Beauty suite collection as I already new that she LOVED the owl in the Ephemera Pack.

Both of my girls now love going through new catalogues with me and letting me know what their favourites are. So, when she said she loved the owl and everything in the Blackberry Beauty Suite, I knew I could make her a card using those products.

I also had a play with the Linen Specialty Paper. It was interesting to see how it behaved when stamped on, and when I made it a little wet (and then dried it), and even dry embossed it.... it then formed the background of the card

Did you know that the Linen paper is like a big sticker?

You can stamp on it, cut it, die cut it and then peel the back off to adhere straight to your project!

Blackberry Beauty for my Lockdown Blues

As lockdown is starting to take its toll (we're in week 12 now), I've only just gone back to by craft desk and been able to finish anything. Home-schooling has kept me away from my craft room much more than I'd hoped.

I managed to make my Cards to Go kits this month (after missing last month) and, after finding my creative mojo again, I used products from the new Blackberry Beauty Suite collection to create this:

There are so many lovely elements in this suite from the Gold Shimmer Vellum to the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack (which has the lovey tag and gold leaf pieces in it).

I also had a play with the Pansy dies to make this one:

You may see a theme here for the types of card I am making. This month is the start of the busy birthday season for mine and my husbands family's. So I am trying to get as many as I can started since the first of the bunch is tomorrow!
